Every year thousands of children are severely injured or killed in accidents associated with products used in and around homes, schools, and recreation areas. Knowing how these accidents happen is the first step in Protecting Our Kids.
Many of the True Stories and illustrations listed below come from the files of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The injury statistics are published by the Commission's National Electronic Injury Surveillance System, which provides national injury estimates based on reports from hospital emergency rooms.
