A three year old female died as a result of injuries she received from a fall from a fifth story apartment window. Apparently she climbed on a nearby chair and pulled herself up to the window. She then pushed out a screen and fell to a concrete parking lot.

Nearly 20 children under 10 die each year due to falls from windows.

Screens will not protect them.

Keep furniture away from windows and don't open bottom windows more than 4 inches when young kids are playing.
