Prescription Drug Poisons 16 Month Old Baby

A 16 month old male died as a result of accidental iron poisoning after ingesting his mother's iron sulfate tablets. The victim and his twin sister ingested an unknown number of 324mg tablets from a 100 tablet bottle with a child resistant closure. Approximately 30 tablets were missing after the event. The victim was found dead the morning after the event. The sister suffered no harmful effects. There was no indication of a package or closure failure.
