Hair Dryer Electrocutes Teenage Girl

A 14 year old female was electrocuted when an electric hair dryer fell into the bathtub in which she was bathing. The accident occurred at the home of the victim

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1,1991, all hair dryers must have a "Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter" to prevent electrocution in the "on" or "off" position.

Never keep a plugged in appliance near the bathtub.

Older hair dryers can cause electrocution if dropped into water.
